About

A one-of-a-kind Chrome extension pet game that allows you to interact with and grow digital pets directly from your computer screen with high detail. Facing numerous challenges and tons of bugs during its development. This project requires us to establish seamless communication between tabs, integrate complex pet animations and behaviors, and inject them into any website, making it a highly challenging process. This also means that we must ensure a lightweight and memory-optimized program that can run on nearly every tab. Along the way, I've optimized it to provide a total of around 300% FPS boost and reduce CPU and memory usage since its initial release in November 2022, as of October 2023. I also contributed to the backend and cloud architecture carrying it, which supported 10,000+ monthly active users.

Pet Features: Dragging Pet Around, Sleep, Patting, Leaping to Page Element, Automatic Pet Behaviors, Feeding (multiple foods & drinks available), Dress Up (tons of accessories to use)

Kennel Features: Drag and Minimize, Friend List, Daily Rewards & Mission, Skin System

Most of the features above is synced across all tabs through custom global state management.
